What does a pre-purchase inspection cost?

A pre-purchase inspection at TechCar costs € 199 including VAT: more than 150 checkpoints, a test drive and the on-board computer read out, with a report with photos within 48 hours. It takes up to 2 hours in our workshop in Alphen aan den Rijn; if you want us to go to the car, we assess it on location for € 310.

No, we carry out the pre-purchase inspection in our own workshop in Alphen aan den Rijn, where the car goes up on the lift. Agree with the seller that the car comes to us for the inspection. Would you rather have us go to the car? That is Assessment, part of our car buying service, for € 310: we then assess the car on location. It is not a full inspection, because without a lift we cannot look underneath the car, but you do get an honest verdict before you decide. View our car buying service

We can typically schedule an inspection within 48 hours. In urgent cases (car is about to be sold) we do our best to fit you in the same or next day.

Yes, we can help with cars abroad too. A car in Germany or Belgium, for example, cannot come to our workshop, so this almost always becomes our car buying service: we assess the car on location. Different rates apply. Send us a WhatsApp message or give us a call and we will go through the options. We often combine this with our import service.

Yes, the report concludes with a clear verdict: buy, buy only after repairs, or walk away. This is our honest assessment based on the findings.
